Between June Lake’s alpine lakes and Lee Vining’s views of Mono Lake, you’ll find some of the best meals along this stretch of Highway 395.
The restaurants here reflect the landscape around them. Breweries filled with hikers and skiers. Lakeside cafés serving breakfast before a day on the water. Roadside diners fueling Yosemite adventures. Ice cream stands that seem to attract everyone in town on a summer afternoon.
Whether you’re staying for a weekend or simply passing through, these are a few places worth pulling over for.
June Lake
June Lake Junction Café & Mini Mart
For decades, June Lake Junction has been the unofficial gateway to the June Lake Loop. Travelers heading to June Lake, Silver Lake, Gull Lake, Grant Lake, and June Mountain have been pulling over here for gas, snacks, coffee, burgers, and milkshakes long before Instagram discovered the area.
The milkshakes have developed a loyal following among anglers, skiers, hikers, cyclists, and anyone who’s spent a day outside. On busy summer weekends, you’ll often see people sitting outside with a shake in hand before continuing toward the Loop.

June Lake Brewing
Part brewery, part community gathering place.
June Lake Brewing has become one of the anchors of the June Lake community, serving a rotating lineup of craft beer while hosting food trucks, live music, and events throughout the year.
After a day on the lake, the trail, or the ski hill, it’s a natural place to end up.
🤙 Staple

June Pie Pizza
Wood-fired pizza and mountain towns have always made a good combination.
June Pie serves handcrafted pizzas, fresh ingredients, local beer, and a relaxed atmosphere that fits naturally into life around the June Lake Loop. It’s a favorite stop after a day spent hiking, fishing, paddling, or skiing.
🤙 We love the New Yorker!
Local Scoop 🤙

Eagle’s Landing Restaurant
Located at Double Eagle Resort, Eagle’s Landing offers one of the more refined dining experiences in the area.
The menu features steaks, seafood, pasta, and seasonal dishes served beneath views of the surrounding mountains. It’s a popular choice for visitors looking to linger over dinner after a day spent outdoors.
Silver Lake Resort Café
For generations, anglers have started their mornings here.
Located beside Silver Lake, the café serves breakfast, lunch, burgers, sandwiches, and classic Eastern Sierra comfort food with front-row views of one of the region’s most popular fishing destinations.
Lee Vining
Latte Da Coffee Café
Located along Main Street, Latte Da is a favorite morning stop for coffee, espresso drinks, pastries, breakfast burritos, and grab-and-go food.
Whether you’re heading to Yosemite, Mono Lake, Bodie, or simply continuing north on Highway 395, it’s a good place to start the day.
🤙 Our favorite coffee shop on the Eastside.
Whoa Nellie Deli
Few restaurants along Highway 395 have achieved the reputation of Whoa Nellie Deli.
Located inside the Tioga Gas Mart, the restaurant has become a mandatory stop for generations of Yosemite visitors, road trippers, climbers, and photographers. Fish tacos, buffalo meatloaf, lobster taquitos, and rotating seasonal specials have earned national attention, while the patio offers sweeping views of Mono Lake and the Mono Basin.
It’s proof that great food can come from unexpected places.
🤙 Best gas station ever.
Basin Café
Located in the center of Lee Vining, Basin Café serves breakfast and lunch favorites for travelers heading toward Yosemite, Mono Lake, and Tioga Pass.
It’s the kind of place where hiking plans, fishing reports, and road trip itineraries get discussed over coffee.
Mono Inn
Perched above Mono Lake, Mono Inn combines memorable views with a setting that feels deeply connected to the Mono Basin.
The location alone makes it worth a stop, particularly when evening light begins moving across the lake and surrounding craters.
Tierra Antigua Café
A longtime favorite among travelers and locals alike, Tierra Antigua Café serves coffee, breakfast, sandwiches, and freshly prepared meals in a relaxed setting near the center of town.
It’s an easy stop before a day exploring Mono Lake or Yosemite.
Mono Cone
Part burger stand, part ice cream shop, part Highway 395 tradition.
Mono Cone has been serving burgers, fries, milkshakes, and soft serve to generations of travelers. During summer afternoons, the line often stretches out the door.
Two Towns, Plenty of Good Meals
One of the advantages of staying in June Lake or Lee Vining is that you’re never far from your next meal.
Coffee before sunrise at Mono Lake. Breakfast beside Silver Lake. Pizza after a hike. A beer after skiing June Mountain.
Most itineraries naturally seem to include a few stops along the way.
